How To Systematize Your Social Media Content And Automate Your Social Media Marketing For Your Business

Automate social media posts for your business. Really. It’s something you should do asap.

I am HUGE on the systematization and automation of your business processes.

It cuts down on busy work, makes decisions easier, and give you more time to connect with your co-workers and clients.

Basically, it makes life all-around better. In every way. There’s literally no down-side.

And when it comes to systematization and automation, there are a few tasks in particular that benefit from the process more-so than others.

Let me tell you right here, right now – the creation and posting of social media content reigns supreme in benefiting from systems and automation.

So, with concern for your time and well-being, I felt it my duty to write a post on how to go about systematizing and automating your Social Media marketing for your business today.

Before I jump into the meat of it, let me explain why I say both “systematize” and “automate”.

When implementing a comprehensive social media marketing plan, there are basically two things that you will be doing.

  1. Creating content
  2. Distributing content

That’s it. That’s all you’ll be doing. It’s fairly simple and straight-forward.

In a perfect world, both of those tasks would be automated. But that’s not the case here. You will need to create the content yourself, and that can only be systematized.

So, when we talk about systematization, we’re speaking about content creation. When we talk about automation, we’re speaking about content distribution.

Why You Should Systematize and Automate Your Social Media Marketing

Before we go any further, let’s real quick cover why you should invest your time in systematization and automation… though it’s probably already painfully obvious to you if you’ve given organic social media marketing a try in your business.

For those who haven’t yet tried “bootstrapping” your social media marketing, here’s why you should systematize and automate your social media in the first place.

Automate social media posts to go out into the REAL WORLD. Like these fine folk.

It’s Free Marketing

Besides networking, there are very, very few activities you can partake in out there that build your business and also don’t cost a dime.

Like, very few. Even posting in your local newspaper costs money.

Posting on your social media accounts though costs literally nothing. Granted, the methods I suggest here do cost about $30 a month, but it is a $30 well spent.

All you have to do is come up with the content!

It Saves Lots (and Lots and Lots) of Time

When I first started posting for my own business, I was dumbfounded as to how anyone could possibly both post on their social accounts AND run a business. Posting seemed like a full time job in-and-of itself!

If you’ve given it a whirl yourself, you know that social media takes time. And I mean, real time.

By automating and systematizing your social media marketing, you will save bucket loads of time.

How to Systematize Social Media Content

Remember, in an earlier statement I mentioned that you can only systematize your content creation, you can’t automate it, as it takes your direct input to create.

So, how do you systematize your content? By “batching” your work and building it into your schedule.

There are five primary social media platforms that you’ll need to distribute content on for your business.

  1. Facebook (video, text & images)
  2. Instagram (video, text & images)
  3. YouTube (video)
  4. LinkedIn (video, text & images)
  5. Google My Business (text & images)

Each one of those platforms requires specific media. Unfortunately. That’d be nice if they were all the same though right? Why can’t things just be easy, damnit!

So yeah, you can’t just write an article and post it to each and every platform. You need specific media for each platform.

So how do you approach creating unique content for each platform and still have time to live a life?

Batch your work up-front; pick a single day a week and knock out 7 pieces of content for whatever medium you do best – be that text or video.

This is how I automate social media posts for MY business.

Then, pass that content over to your virtual assistant to translate into the other forms of media and to upload into your… social media automation software!

How to Automate Social Media Posts

After your content creation has been systematized, you’ve already been able to save a significant amount of time.

Now let’s save even MORE time and money by automating the distribution of your content. Aka automate your social media posts.

This is the easy part, so you can breathe a sigh of relief.

There are a number of really good social media marketing automation software out there – I am going to be suggesting my fav fav. SocialPilot.

SocialPilot is AWESOME.

With it, you can take all of that content you had created and schedule it to automatically post at the busiest times of each day.

All hands off. No more having to “remember” to post (which won’t happen). It just does it for you.

Not only that, it gives you deep, deep analytics on your posts, allows for bulk uploading and will post on ALL of the social media platforms.

That just saved you 4 hours a week. You’re welcome!

If you want to get started with SocialPilot, head on over here to sign up.

So that’s it!
